Dear authors, reviewers, editors and readers of our journal, it is my pleasure to welcome you all to this platform for which I serve as the Editor-in-Chief. It is a great honour to be on this saddle and I intend to commit myself fully to steering our journal to attain great heights among other scholarly publications in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Our task is to work together to achieve this goal.

I am very much aware of the tasks and responsibilities that being the editor-in-Chief entail; I promise all stakeholders that I will carry out this responsibility diligently with great energy, excitement but without compromising standards. I will always act with other editorial members, with utmost integrity.

We will ensure that in spite of the competition that exists in the world of publication and information dissemination, the Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology will continue to evolve in response to the tremendous opportunities and challenges to the advantage of all stakeholders, while still upholding ethical standards and practices.

Our journal will continue to accept manuscripts for the purpose of publishing high quality research and reviews within its scope. The bulk of our journal content shall remain original research articles with high standard systematic double-blinded peer review process.

I and my editorial team encourage all authors to carry out their work under the highest ethical standards that can easily be replicated globally. This is important to ensure that inferences made from the studies we publish are reliable and valid.

As stated earlier, double-blind peer review remains an important part of our evaluation process. Our active and highly proficient editorial office will ensure prompt responses to your queries and criticisms.

To our dear authors, there is strong consensus that manuscripts that undergo peer review turn out better when reviewers’ comments, observations and criticisms are taken and effected and this helps to attract and maintain the trust of all our readers.

To our readers, our editorials and commentaries, will continue to play an important role in considering and resolving contentious issues in a manner that is devoid of bias. Your feedbacks are also very important for us to continue to maintain high standards.

It is vital that our journal continue to have a good balance of article types that falls within the journal’s scope. And working along with the publishers, we will encourage publications of high quality articles which will be widely read and acceptable to boost the impact factor from increased citation. The entire process of our publication is 100% electronic, which makes dissemination faster and offers wider international access. The publishers are also working very hard to have the published articles indexed with some renown repositories worldwide which will increase the visibility of the articles. I am very delighted with the support of the editorial team and members of the editorial office who continue to make great things happen.

Our journal also enjoys the backing of reputable experts on our Editorial Advisory Board- these individuals are forces to be reckoned with as far as the scope of this journal is concerned. It is also a great privilege to have them as ambassadors and faces of our journal.
